It is a complex evaluation for understanding and to execute the concept of sustainable building. We had the understanding for years for the permanent structures to have cement roofing and aluminum sidings. As additional and additional people are involved with the idea of a clear planet for the well being of our generations, the popularity or the awareness of sustainable buildings with the atmosphere is catching the imagination of this current generation.

There are a few criteria to understand what is a sustainable building. If it is to be realized we have to count the criteria as this, do not scratch the endangered species, do not consume to a large extent energy, adjust the climate within the buildings naturally, the materials to be acquired have to be green. If these qualities can be met we can have our dream of a sustainable building.

The dream of a sustainable building of this surroundings is difficult to get but it is not impossible. But you can achieve steps towards this direction. The first step is to insulate your building to keep the warmth and coolness in winter and summer respectively. The second step is to go for the certified energy complaint appliances.

The above two steps will give the benefits in the two ways. The energy complaint appliances will demand less energy and the insulation will maintain the consumption of energy in a enormously balanced manner. This will help the local grid to work profitably and when the grid produces a balanced requirement of power the break of the natural world will be less.

The lesser demand of energy means lesser bill for the power. In the current scenario of fluctuating economy and the recessionary trends are looming enormous,  saving of finance will be a direct result.

The meaning of sustainable building for the sustainable environment means the building will be bio degradable. This does not represent that the building which you have made under enormously pressing conditions will crumple right in front of your eyes. It only means that the sustainable building materials will only be degrading itself after a couple of centuries. The non sustainable building materials will also have the same fate but the difference is that it won’t degrade but will only erect debris of themselves.

There are some exceptions too. All sustainable buildings are not bio degradable. The stones of pure ecosystem will last long. If you are in a position to use the rocks from the site of the building itself there is no need for several quarries.

The creation of quarries poses huge threat to the nature. It will create the artificial lakes, deep and steep opening of the earth which is a proven trap for the life of animals and human beings. The stagnated water in the quarries will be the saturation points for the accumulation of life threatening chemical products. After the extraction the quarries are abandoned which form the death traps.

The sustainable buildings may be a distant dream, but it is one of the greatest options.
